Auburn Action

The centre of Auburn city was occupied by a large group of young people yesterday as we introduced Parkour to the area. 9Lives partnered with ACDN to make it happen with plans to keep the workshops ongoing to encourage young people to stay active and creative in the suburb.

Penrith Parkour
2nd January 2009
A couple of weeks ago we had the chance to share our knowledge with some emerging Parkour practitioners in the Penrith area. Supported by Penrith City Council, the 4 hour - intensive workshop ran through a heap of Parkour skills as well as emphasis on philosophy and conditioning.
The group of young men proved the talent in Penrith is strong and can only get better.

Flying Forward

Originating from China and worn by the Shaolin Masters themselves, Feiyue shoes are now available in Australia. Team 9Lives have received free pairs to promote the brand, and we must say the kicks have proven great in our training, forcing us to emphasize the focus on technique and soft landings. Who said girls can't Parkour?

A free, introductory Parkour workshop was held yesterday at the Prairiewood Youth Centre as part of the Exhibit 09' event held for local youths. We were amazed at the turnout which included an overflow of girls, and incredibly fast learning by all students. With very few women in the Parkour scene, we hope to see more of this kind of enthusiasm!

9Lives, 1 Catwalk

The Roxy Hotel launched their Friday night parties last week with a massive event including live DJ's, fashion Models and the 9Lives performers tearing up the rooftops and catwalk with Parkour, B-Boying and Martial Arts. The team were all dressed in Provocator Jeans to promote the company's rising, underground denim label. Visit Provocator here.

9Lives in New Music Video

Our Parkour performers Joseph, Thanh, Cheng, Chris and Ali were involved in a music video production earlier this year for artist Robyn Laou. The clip was shot on the RED camera at 120 frames slowmotion and is currently being screened across Australian TV on Video Hits and Rage. Enjoy!
Ali on ABC Radio National

Spider-Man Stunt Show
1st August 2009
Main man Ali Kadhim has returned from a Spider-Man Stunt Show performance in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ali collaborated with some of the best traceurs / freerunners, stuntmen and breakers from around Australia and Indonesia. They performed a total of 83 shows over 5 weeks at the Ancol theme park in Jakarta.

New Short Film
11th May 2009
A short film of the different styles we all have in our Parkour training and how we view the world as our playground. The shortfilm was a finalist for Shortcuts 2009 Youth Film Festival and was also part of 6 Films shown at the 'Pop Series' event.
Upcoming Show

We will be performing at this years Bring It On! Youth Festival in Fairfield Showground on the 5th of April from 12-5PM.

Please note our performance at Blacktown Burbs Festival was cancelled due to funding issues but we will be there next year!
