The HERO Project

Team 9Lives are joining forces with Powerhouse Youth Theatre to create a 1-hour live performance called 'The HERO Project'. It involves dozens of artists and over 20 Parkour performers, most of which are students and young people from Western Sydney.
There will be 2 public performances taking place on the 23rd and 24th of September 2011, with 4 other shows performed for school students.

Saturday Sessions!

We have opened another new Parkour and Freerunning class in South-West Sydney. It's on every Saturday at Cabra-Vale Park (Cabramatta) from 10am - midday with the focus on exploring the body and new environments. The cost is $10 per class and all skill levels are welcome to join. Our regular Tuesday and Friday classes in Fairfield are still running too so we hope to see you all at training!
Foundations 4 Flow

We will be teaching 8 Parkour Classes for only $30 throughout the January School Holidays as part of a new program for young beginners from Fairfield. No experience is required and we are hoping to get more interest from girls with the help of our new female instructor! Training is held twice a week for 2 hours each session. Mixed Martial Arts Classes

Indigenous Interaction

A Parkour workshop and demonstration was held at the Emerton Youth Centre yesterday as part of NAIDOC week. It was a fantastic day with most of the young kids learning unbelievably fast! We hope to go back out there again very soon.

FIFA Fan Fest!

9Lives has teamed up with some of the best BBoys from around Sydney to perform for SONY at the FIFA Fan Fest in Darling Harbour. They will perform 12 shows during the World Cup and enthusiastic audiences members will have a chance to win great prizes!

Kids Classes

Australia's Got Talent

9Lives were featured in Episode 3 of this year's Aus Got Talent TV Show on Channel 7. Our only wish was that they showed more of the best parts of our performance and background story! But it was good experience for us and at the end of the day that's what counts.
Youthweek Workshops

9Lives held 3 workshops through the course of Youth Week, held at Greenacre, Prairiewood and Penrith. The workshops were a massive success with bigger turnouts and lots of generous feedback from students and facilitators with many more workshops to come in future.

Best Film in Fairfield

Ali Kadhim has won the Best Film Award at this years Shortcuts Film Festival in Fairfield. His documentary is based on the newest and youngest member of 9Lives and a practitioner of Parkour for only one year - Mohammad Almayahi. Please stay tuned for the upload of the film!

Team 9Lives will be performing their Urban Action Show at the Sydney Royal Easter Show this Friday. Performances will be held at exactly 12pm at the Big Top Amphitheatre on Friday the 2nd to Sunday the 4th of April. Auburn Action

The centre of Auburn city was occupied by a large group of young people yesterday as we introduced Parkour to the area. 9Lives partnered with ACDN to make it happen with plans to keep the workshops ongoing to encourage young people to stay active and creative in the suburb.

Penrith Parkour
2nd January 2010
A couple of weeks ago we had the chance to share our knowledge with some emerging Parkour practitioners in the Penrith area. Supported by Penrith City Council, the 4 hour - intensive workshop ran through a heap of Parkour skills as well as emphasis on philosophy and conditioning.
The group of young men proved the talent in Penrith is strong and can only get better.

Flying Forward

Originating from China and worn by the Shaolin Masters themselves, Feiyue shoes are now available in Australia. Team 9Lives have received free pairs to promote the brand, and we must say the kicks have proven great in our training, forcing us to emphasize the focus on technique and soft landings. Who said girls can't Parkour?

A free, introductory Parkour workshop was held yesterday at the Prairiewood Youth Centre as part of the Exhibit 09' event held for local youths. We were amazed at the turnout which included an overflow of girls, and incredibly fast learning by all students. With very few women in the Parkour scene, we hope to see more of this kind of enthusiasm!

The Roxy Hotel launched their Friday night parties last week with a massive event including live DJ's, fashion Models and the 9Lives performers tearing up the rooftops and catwalk with Parkour, B-Boying and Martial Arts. The team were all dressed in Provocator Jeans to promote the company's rising, underground denim label. Visit Provocator here.

9Lives in New Music Video

Our Parkour performers Joseph, Thanh, Cheng, Chris and Ali were involved in a music video production earlier this year for artist Robyn Laou. The clip was shot on the RED camera at 120 frames slowmotion and is currently being screened across Australian TV on Video Hits and Rage. Enjoy!

Spider-Man Stunt Show

Main man Ali Kadhim has returned from a Spider-Man Stunt Show performance in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ali collaborated with some of the best traceurs / freerunners, stuntmen and breakers from around Australia and Indonesia. They performed a total of 83 shows over 5 weeks at the Ancol theme park in Jakarta.

New Short Film

A short film of the different styles we all have in our Parkour training and how we view the world as our playground. The shortfilm was a finalist for Shortcuts 2009 Youth Film Festival and was also part of 6 Films shown at the 'Pop Series' event.

We will be performing at this years Bring It On! Youth Festival in Fairfield Showground on the 5th of April from 12-5PM.
